Collection importing
Bring your collection into iCollecta.
Already keep a spreadsheet? Prepare your existing records for collection import rather than re-entering each title, year and note by hand.
Prepare the fields the importer reads
Collection import supports CSV, XLSX and JSON. Start with the CSV header template below. Give each item a title; rows without titles are skipped.
- title
- category
- condition
- year
- purchase_price
- estimated_value
- image_url
- notes
This is the actual supported header format, not a sample collection or a valuation report.
How collection import works
- Prepare your file using the supported field names. Confirm titles, categories, condition and numeric amounts.
- Create an account, sign in, and use the collection import control on your profile or dashboard.
- Choose your file and start the import. Review the reported added/skipped counts, then check the created records.
The importer adds records; it does not replace your collection or automatically merge duplicate titles. Try a small file first. No upload speed, file-size limit or maximum record capacity is promised here.
Helpful import questions
Does import set a verified market value?
No. purchase_price and estimated_value are amounts from your file. Estimated value is not a live appraisal, listing price or verified sold comparison.
Which categories and conditions should I use?
Categories supported by this collection importer are Trading Cards, Memorabilia, Comics, Stamps and Other. Conditions are Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good and Poor. Unrecognized values default to Trading Cards and Near Mint, so review them before importing.
Is collection import the same as listing items for sale?
No. Collection import adds collection records. The marketplace has a separate listings import with price and description fields; importing a collection does not list it for sale.
Does this page upload my spreadsheet?
No. Import happens inside your signed-in account. This public guide does not upload files or display private collection data.
